General

Compaxit is a secure licenced based application which will incorporatemost transactions required by the company secretary. Through its 'intelligent' use of forms and options it is possible to create all documents, minutes, resolutions and forms required for any specific transaction without having prior knowledge of company secretarial administration.

Compaxit is web based and so there is no need to download a program to your computer. Documents can therefore be produced using any internet and printer connected computer making it easy to work away from the office.

The documents produced by the Compaxit program are in PDF (fixed document format) and so the system does not rely on a document creating editing program. The added advantage of the PDF is that its appearance remains the same regardless of the operating system in use.

The Compaxit program also incorporates a facility so that any documents created can first be reviewed and amended if required before creating the final PDF documents.

Using the Compaxit program the user can produce all minutes, notices, documents, agreements, articles and resolutions by selecting an option from various 'drop-down' boxes. In most cases all documentation can be reduced within minutes.

Chris Hackett

Chris Hackett started his career in company law and secretarial administration over 25 years ago in 1989 working for a large, high tech firm of solicitors in the South of England. In the early 1990’s he saw an opportunity to lead the charge to form Limited Companies, and founded his own leading Company Formation Agency. At that time electronic company formation did not exist so all documents were client-specific, involved hard copy application forms and it took several days to deliver incorporation documents for bespoke Companies. Chris decided to expedite the process by creating a database and linking it to document creation using Visual Basic coding. In essence this meant that Microsoft Word documents could be created automatically whilst extracting information from the database at the push of a button.

After several years of growing his business and seeing an ever-increasing demand to provide more and more extensive Company Secretarial support services to an ever increasing number of professionals, Chris saw the potential to extend the application of this methodology to commercial precedents and to provide users with a means of creating agreements, resolutions, minutes and forms in a more efficient and less bespoke way. The challenge was to create an online presence where all these documents could be produced simply and easily through an ‘intelligent’ use of forms and options at the push of a button.

The resulting application is Compaxit.

It has taken Chris several years of painstaking work to perfect the application and even more years of experience to ensure it meets the Company Secretarial practitioner’s specific and practical requirements. In short, Chris has done everything to make Compaxit a ‘must have’ application for any busy Accountant, Solicitor or Company Secretary.

Nick Bright

Nick Bright spent over 10 years as a Solicitor in private practice as a Commercial Litigator acting for many corporations both large and small. Nick then moved to become General Counsel of the first business ISP in the UK - Star Internet in 2001 and Global General Counsel of its sister company MessageLabs shortly after its inception in the same year. MessageLabs was the pioneer of the first ‘Cloud’ or ‘SaaS’ service with its unique Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam filtering engines deployed outside the customers network. It came to media prominence after being the first to stop and name the first mass mailing virus ‘LoveBug’ in May 2000 and every other email borne virus for the next 9 years. It quickly turned into a global success story becoming the global market leader in internet security and remaining so for the next 8 years in spite of its 2 major competitors being acquired by Google and Microsoft. MessageLabs was eventually sold for 3 quarters of a billion dollars to Symantec in November 2008.

Since then Nick has been involved with Chris in setting up Compaxit and being retained as a consultant by other companies both large and small and in different sectors including Truphone in the telecoms sector and SABMiller plc the global brewing conglomerate and FTSE 10 Company, and Reward, an innovative company at the forefront of card loyalty platform technology and winner of the Best Card Benefits Programme of the Year Award 2014.

He worked alongside Chris Hackett for a short but highly entertaining period in the depths of the recession in the late 1980’s. A lifelong bond and friendship was borne, out of which Chris’s passion for innovating the process of Company Secretarial transactions was recognised by Nick as a truly beneficial and much needed solution and resulted in Nick collaborating with him for over 5 years to help make Compaxit the truly compelling proposition it is today.

The Program

Compaxit has been designed to operate as a web-based program. There is no requirement therefore to download any apps or programs to use our service provided that you have the latest Adobe Acrobat reader installed so that a Portable Document Format (PDF) can be viewed.
The documents produced by the Compaxit program are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and so the system does not rely on the user having Microsoft Word installed. The advantage of the PDF is that its appearance remains the same regardless of the operating system in use. PDFs are typically used to distribute read-only documents that preserve the layout of a page. They’re commonly used for documents like user manuals, eBooks, application forms, and scanned documents, to name just a few.
After completing an application the user will have the option either to create a PDF based on the information provided or make adjustments using an editor before creating the PDF.
Compaxit has been designed so that it is possible to create all documents, minutes, resolutions and forms without having any knowledge of company secretarial procedures. As documents can be edited before converting to a PDF format for printing or downloading purposes it is useful of course to have some general company secretarial knowledge to draft additional clauses if required.
Currently users are able to store and recall the basic company information (1) Name of company (2) Registered Office Address and (3) Company Number. Our aim is to allow users also to save specific information relating to Directors and Shareholders, so in addition to names and addresses the user would also for example be able to save and recall information relating to numbers of shares held.
We will be adding new transactions to the current listing and will update all subscribed members accordingly
