The registered email address and the company authentication code
Two details every company should have on record, both kept on the company Overview in Compaxit.
Registered email address
Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, every company must maintain an appropriate registered email address that Companies House can use to contact it. It is not shown on the public register. New companies supply one at incorporation; existing companies gave one with their next confirmation statement. Failing to maintain one is an offence, so Compaxit’s compliance radar flags any company without one.
Authentication code
The authentication code is the 6-character code Companies House issues for filing online — it is the company’s electronic signature. Keep it safe: anyone with the code can file for the company. Compaxit stores it encrypted, shows it only when you ask, and records who viewed it — the code itself is never written to the audit log.
