Getting a document signed electronically

Compaxit lets you send any PDF to someone to sign online, and gives you back a signed copy with a completion certificate. It is separate from filing anything at Companies House — this is your own document signing, for things like a shareholders’ agreement, an NDA or a letter of engagement.

Two ways to sign

You can either hold a person’s signature once and reuse it whenever you produce that company’s documents, or send a specific document out to be read and signed. Both live on a company’s Signatures tab.

Sending a document for signature

  • Upload the PDF and give it a title, then choose who signs — anyone on the register, or a name you enter.
  • Share the secure link or QR code with the signatory. It is one-time and expires after 14 days; no account is needed.
  • The signatory opens the link, reads the document on screen, confirms they have read it, and signs — drawn with a finger or mouse, or typed.

What you get back

Once signed, the request is marked received and a signed PDF becomes available to download. It is the original document with a completion certificate appended, recording the signatory, their capacity, the date and time (in UTC), the signer’s IP address and a document fingerprint (SHA-256) that binds the certificate to the exact file that was signed. Every request stays listed on the Signatures tab, so you can retrieve the signed copy at any time.

Compaxit turns these procedures into a few guided clicks — on your own letterhead, filed correctly.
